Sector Strategy and Approach

Since 1998, Carlyle U.S. Real Estate has successfully navigated diverse economic and real estate market conditions.

With a focus on demographic-based themes, we target real estate assets that we believe offer compelling value propositions to deep and growing demand pools and seek to avoid investing in sectors less correlated with GDP and broad macroeconomic conditions. Our high conviction sectors today include Single-Family Rental, Multifamily Residential, Active Adult, Self-Storage, and Industrial. Our team assesses sectors using a proprietary framework of criteria that evaluates predictability and resilience of demand.

Led by Rob Stuckey as Head of U.S. Real Estate since 1998, our deep and talented team of over 100 real estate professionals bolsters the business through dedicated sourcing, transaction, and asset management responsibilities.

U.S. Real Estate Team

Carlyle U.S. Real Estate has a deep team of over 100 experienced professionals with significant continuity. Senior professionals on the team consist of 27 Managing Directors, the vast majority of which have worked together for over a decade. The Managing Directors have 18 years of Carlyle tenure on average and 24 years of real estate experience on average. We believe our distinctive management team is one of the key factors contributing to the success of our U.S. Real Estate business, particularly the continuity of senior leadership, the depth and experience of our investment professionals, and our presence in key target markets.

The EBITDA of ESG

EBITDA OF ESG

We are pleased to share this year’s ESG report, entitled “The EBITDA of ESG” to reinforce our belief that integrating ESG factors into our investment processes provides an additive lens that we believe can provide opportunities for our portfolio companies to drive revenues, reduce costs, secure more efficient financing, and strengthen their competitive positioning.
